Boost your metabolism and support your thyroid gland. Discover which nutrients you need and the sneaky foods you must avoid.
Hypothyroidism occurs when your thyroid gland doesn't produce enough hormones. Because these hormones control your metabolism, a sluggish thyroid leads to severe fatigue, unexplained weight gain, and hair loss.
While medication (like Thyroxine) is essential, your diet plays a massive role in how well your body absorbs that medication and how efficiently it produces its own hormones. This 7-day Indian diet chart focuses on nutrients that fuel the thyroid (Iodine, Selenium, Zinc) while strictly identifying "Goitrogens"—foods that actively block thyroid function if eaten raw.
CRITICAL: Do not consume any food, coffee, or supplements within 60 minutes of taking your morning thyroid medication. Water only.

Selenium and Zinc are required for your body to convert the inactive thyroid hormone (T4) into the active form (T3) that your cells can actually use. Brazil nuts and eggs are your best sources. Additionally, ensure you are getting adequate Iodine (usually through iodized salt), as iodine is the fundamental building block of thyroid hormones.
Hypothyroidism cannot be cured by diet alone. If you are experiencing extreme fatigue or rapid weight gain, your TSH levels need to be clinically evaluated. Thyroid medication dosages often need to be adjusted periodically based on blood work.
